At first I wasn't sure what to write about but after a lot of thinking I finally came up with a good one. I wanted to write my research paper on the George Lopez Show, but since that's too recent I decided to step it down a notch and do The Cosby Show. I decided to write it on The Cosby Show because it really impacted the view of colored people and American family in the American society. The view of an American family would be based on color, and since the Cosby Show they have allowed colored people to also be included in that term. The Cosby Show was the first of its kind. It aspired other shows to take place such as Family Matters and the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Also later opened family shows for other ethnicities such as Mexican- Americans, like the George Lopez Show. It's uniqueness is that it was the first African American show that was an eponymous, meaning the name of the person is used for the name of the show. I will be addressing the fact that this show allowed for the success of African Americans in Television shows and have allowed singers and actors to succeed in today's world.
Too bad that you couldn’t do that George Lopez show because that probably would have been a great topic that you could do a lot with. But it’s ok because I think that Cosby Show is a really good choice too. I actually thought about doing that myself. I think that you will be able to write a really good paper with this topic because it did have an important impact on the American culture. It did break barriers in the way African Americans were viewed. Before the Cosby Show there had never been a television series to have a colored family as the main focus. So it was the first of its kind. It honestly was a catalyst in the opportunities that African Americans had in the future and also other people of different ethnicities. Overall I think you have a really good topic and will be able to write a good research paper. Good luck writing it!
